Vital 'Idol': A peek at Tuesday's tryouts

    Posted at 9:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12

When “American Idol” begins at 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, I plan to be tuned into Fox and sitting in front of my computer, ready to live blog every episode.

I thought a good way to get things started would be to take a look at some of the auditioning singers from Kansas City and Phoenix. Here are eight hoepfuls viewers will see this week. Will one of them be the next Kelly Clarkson, or maybe the new William Hung?

    See you Tuesday night.

    Group1

Kansas City tryouts (left to right) Tiffany Preston, 16, Ada, Mich.; James Michael Avance, 20, Edmond, Okla., and Mia Conley, 27, Kansas City. Phoenix tryout (far right) Noel Hernandez, 24, Bakersfield, Calif.

    Group2

Phoenix tryouts (left to right) Katrina Darrell, 20, Chino Hills, Calif.; Tuan Nguyen, 20, Biloxi, Miss.; Chanel James, 19, Tacoma, Wash., and Aundre Caraway, 20, Phoenix, Ari.
