TV actors grace Chicago stages

Chicago’s theater scene is hopping with TV actors this winter.
Jeffrey Donovan (left), who plays out-of-work CIA agent Michael Weston on USA’s “Burn Notice,” is currently starring in the comedy "Don't Dress for Dinner" at the Royal George Theatre.
The play, which has been extended through Feb. 22, tells the story of a philandering husband and wife (Patricia Kalember and Mark Harelik) who try to outsmart each other with the aid of their respective lovers (Donovan and Jamie Morgan), a French cook (Spencer Kayden) and the cook's husband (Chris Sullivan).
Two other TV names you might recognize in that cast are Patricia Kalember, who starred in "Sisters" and "thirtysomething," and Jamie Morgan, who played Dr. Diane Newman in FX's "Rescue Me."
Over at Steppenwolf Theatre, Tom Irwin (“My So-Called Life”) and John Mahoney (”Frasier”) are starring in “The Seafarer,” about a darkly comic story about an Irishman named Sharky (Francis Guinan) who ends up playing the Devil in a card game. It’s playing at Steppenwolf’s Downstairs Theatre through Feb. 8.
You also can see Irwin in the upcoming season of “Lost” on ABC.
And over the weekend, William Petersen’s first production as a member of the Steppenwolf Theater Ensemble ended. The “CSI” vet starred in “Dublin Carol.”
