If any “CSI” fans are wondering where they’ll see Gil Grissom—that’s Chicagoan William Petersen—now that he’s leaving the show, you might want to make a trip to Chicago.

    Petersen

Petersen has become an ensemble member of the Steppenwolf Theatre Company.

“We are delighted to welcome our long-time friend, William Petersen, into the Steppenwolf ensemble,” Steppenwolf artistic director Martha Lavey said in a press release. “Billy was one of the founding members of Chicago’s Remains Theatre, an ensemble theater that, like Steppenwolf, helped define the storefront theater life of Chicago in the 1980s.”

Petersen currently is starring in Steppenwolf’s production of “Dublin Carol.” I've posted a video clip above.

The Steppenwolf ensemble, now with 42 members, has boasts several actors TV viewers might be familiar with, including Gary Sinise (“CSI: New York”), Kathryn Erbe (“Law & Order: Criminal Intent”), Tom Irwin (“Saving Grace”), Gary Cole (“Desperate Housewives”), Terry Kinney (“Canterbury’s Law”), John Mahoney (“Frasier”), Laurie Metcalf (“Easy Money”), Jeff Perry (“Grey’s Anatomy”) and Jim True-Frost (“The Wire”).

Other ensemble members are John Malkovich, Joan Allen, Kevin Anderson, Alana Arenas, Randall Arney, Kate Arrington, Ian Barford, Robert Breuler, K. Todd Freeman, Frank Galati, Francis Guinan, Moira Harris, Jon Michael Hill, Tim Hopper, Ora Jones, Tina Landau, Martha Lavey, Tracy Letts, Mariann Mayberry, James Vincent Meredith, Amy Morton, Sally Murphy, Austin Pendleton, Yasen Peyankov, Martha Plimpton, Rondi Reed, Molly Regan, Anna D. Shapiro, Eric Simonson, Lois Smith, Rick Snyder and Alan Wilder.

    Comments

Mr. Petersen and I shared a lot about each other during the filming of "Amazing Grace and Chuck" in the mid 80's. With his retirement from CSI, I thought maybe he would like to reconnect. I still live in Montana and would invite him to come back to fish in some of our great fly fishing streams. If I had a way to contact him, I would truly appreciate it.

Curt's reply: Try contacting the Steppenwolf Theater. Maybe they can get you in touch with him. Good luck!
