'Rahmbo' parody dumped from 'SNL' broadcast, but it's funny

    Posted at 10:15 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 23

Another Chicago politician has been parodied by the “Saturday Night Live” crew. Too bad it didn’t make it onto Saturday’s broadcast.

    Rahm

Andy Samberg’s impersonation of Rep. Rahm Emanuel (right, in photo from ABC's "This Week") is a one-note parody, but I loved it.

As you can see in the clip above, Samberg curses his way through “A Message from White House Chief of Staff Designate Rahm Emanuel.” Samberg makes President-elect Barack Obama’s main man—known as Rahmbo for his prizefighter style of getting things accomplished—a sadistic bully.

I’m not sure why it wasn’t on Saturday’s broadcast—which was hosted by Tim McGraw. Maybe it was the cursing—which was beeped but obvious. Anyway, it was much better than a few skits that did make it. (You can watch them by clicking the link at the bottom of this page.)

I’d rather share with you a video from 2005, when Obama took part in a friendly roasting of his good buddy. Our next president is pretty funny, making a joke that totally fits in with Samberg’s skit. About 7 minutes into Obama’s chat, he brings up a run-in Emanuel had as a kid with a meat slicer.

“He lost part of his middle finger,” Obama says. “As a result, this rendered him practically mute.” Watch below.

Watch the clips below and then tell me what you think of "SNL" in the comments section. I want to hear from you guys. Thanks.

First, here’s a success from last night’s “SNL”--newcomer Michaela Watkins’ impersonation of Arianna Huffington during “Weekend Update”:

Kristin Wiig’s Clear-Rite skit was most impressive for unveiling Tim McGraw’s hatless head. I’d never seen his hair before:

This James Bond skit wasn’t awful, but it dragged a bit:

T-Pain helped this Blizzard Man skit, but the white-guy-raps thing is kind of, well, been-there, seen-that:

I really didn’t like Bill Hader's “Dateline” parody:

Or this silly Turkey Day skit:
