On Friday, NBC aired the last of its “Friday Night Lights” episodes filmed before the writers strike. It left fans with a few cliffhangers which I hope will be resolved now that the writers' strike is likely to end this week.

On Thursday, I suggested that it was time for “FNL” fans to rally behind their show to make sure it returns to NBC. I asked fans to send in Visine bottles to NBC.

A number of readers and organizers of other campaigns to save the drama have contacted me since I posted Thursday. Here's more about what they're doing.

I’m sure there are even more campaigns than the following:

  • The Dillon Panthers Fan Club at VH1’s “Best Week Ever” blog is urging viewers to send NBC light bulbs as a message to "Keep the Lights On."

  • GG posted a comment to me on Friday about a group of fans who are seeking donations so they can send 6-inch plastic footballs to NBC. You can find them at MySpace.

  • At savefridaynightlights.tv, a site related to the MySpace group, they’ve created you can print and send to NBC. I’ve posted some examples at left and above. Find the postcards.

  • The same site has a petition here.

Again, here are two addresses to send letters, postcards, footballs, Visine, light bulbs—anything you think will work.

You can send letters to NBC bigwigs Jeff Zucker and Ben Silverman (send a letter to each) at these addresses:

  • NBC Universal, 100 Universal City Plaza, Universal City, CA 91608
  • NBC Entertainment, 3000 W. Alameda Ave., Burbank, CA 91523

    More “FNL” news

  • NBC could shop “FNL” to one of its cable sister networks, according to EW.com.

  • My buddy Maureen Ryan at the Tribune chatted with Jason Katims, “FNL” head writer and executive producer. Read The Watcher.

    Comments

Thanks very much for posting our links and information. Just wanted to post to let you know that the Best Week Ever Campaign is no more. Apparently, the VH1 brass weren't too happy about a show of theirs using corporate money to promote a show that airs on another network on the same night that they do. Ironic, since all that show does is discuss the fare of other networks. So right now, savefridaynightlights.tv is the biggest, most organized campaign out there trying to save the show. We've already ordered 6,250 footballs to be sent very soon, and are still raising money for more.

Curt's reply: Doh! That sucks. I'll let people know Gil.
