Trying to get a win, and some perspective

Will the curse never end?
That's right. Four games since we started working on this here blog and not a single Chicago victory. One more winless day and we might have to scrap this baby before it even gets off the ground.
The ramifications of our short-lived curse, of course, are nothing compared to the impending 100th anniversary of Cubbie futility. Although I prefer to think of it as 10 decades. The smaller numbers help ease the pain.
Sigh.
For the record, I do not believe the Cubs are cursed in any way. The White Sox lost a World Series on purpose. The Red Sox traded the most legendary player ever. The Cubs denied admission to a farm animal who surely didn't appreciate any of the finer points of the game other than peanuts. What possible hierarchy of curses would lead to goat discrimination being the most worthy of eternal torment?

- Round, easily remembered numbers.
- Pain and suffering.
- Scantily clad women (once the weather warms up).
- Alcohol-fueled irrational behavior.
- Irrational behavior (just the regular type).
- The Japanese.
I could go on, but those six are clearly the main factors at work here. For now I would like to focus on number five, because I swear I haven't been drinking.
