An interview with Steve Wozniak about iPhone 3G

Thursday, June 12, 2008 -- 11 a.m. -- on my couch

StevewozniakGuess what? Steve Wozniak, who with Steve Jobs introduced the world to Apple in 1976, is excited about the 3G iPhone.

He told Laptop's Joanna Stern that he's really happy about the iPhone 3G. Maybe that's not too surprising, though, considering he loved the original iPhone.

He spoke about several topics, including Apple's steps into the enterprise market (He's happy with what they are doing) and how big Mobile Me will be (potentially, huge).

It's a good read, so check it out here if you want to read the entire interview.

And in even more Woz news, my colleague Curt Wagner has some hilarious info about Woz and ex-girlfriend and D-List star Kathy Griffin about life with an iPhone.

You can find that here.

And as always, your comments are welcomed.

Thanks for calling.

That's a sharp old school pioneer right there. Always interesting to hear what they think about the state of things etc.

SCOTT'S REPLY: Yep. One half of the creator of the company that makes this blog possible :-D

Scott:
Two things drive me crazy about email and I am wondering whether it is a push-technology issue or an Edge vs 3G issue or a combination of both. Sometimes, when I try to open an email, it spends forever "loading" it, even sometimes when it is not a particular byte intensive email. Other times, it simply ends up saying "Not downloaded" again, not always because of the size. As a former blackberry user, this makes me understand why so many people still carry it as a second device. Is there relief from this in sight? Thanks for answering my call. Marc

SCOTT'S REPLY: Hi, Marc. That is a network issue. If you tried to open the same e-mail over EDGE and then over Wi-Fi, you'd notice that Wi-Fi is much faster. However, the server is also impacted, so a .mac e-mail could take longer to retrieve and download than a Yahoo one, but I usually find that if I'm connected to Wi-Fi, my e-mail is just generally faster. I think that everything will be noticeably faster in the 3G world. Hope that helps.
