80,648 (yes, you read that right)

Saturday, March 1, 2008 -- 12:27 a.m. -- on my couch

80648

80,468.

That's how many page views iPTIB had in February.

That's incredible.

I'm speechless. Last month, when we had 63,000, I wondered how we'd ever top it. Now I know.

Thanks to you, iPTIB is RedEye's most popular blog. And thanks to you, iPTIB is one of the most popular iPhone blogs in the world. Yes, the world.

Whether you are someone who checks 4 or 5 times a day or once or twice a month, I could have never posted numbers like this without you. From your insightful comments and questions to your work in the Twitter Army to your IMs and e-mails ... you make a difference here and I thank you very much for that.

Still, it only gets better my friends. We've got an SDK coming soon. A 3G iPhone is right around the corner. Soon, we'll have more than one type of iPhone to talk about. And someday we'll have more than 2. And I plan to be here every step of the way as your iPhone leader.

Remember, it has never been easier to get iPTIB wherever you are. You know I'm always blogging away. Plus, we have the Twitter Army for breaking news and starting Monday you can get the best of iPTIB Monday through Friday via an SMS alert.

And as I always say ... I want to know what I can do to make your iPhone experience better. Let me know what you want to see more of ... less of ... whatever's on your mind. If you have an idea you want to explore, send it my way and we'll talk about it.

I'm heading to bed ... I still can't believe we broke 80,000 page views. That's more than a quarter million since we've launched.

As I said before, that's incredible.

Thank you again, callers -- each and every one of you -- for your support. I look forward to what's next.

Thanks for calling.

Congrats!! That's my boy!!!

SCOTT'S REPLY: Thanks, dad. Now that I know you aren't sitting there and hitting refresh, I feel so much more confident in my iPhone abilities. :-D

It's no suprise. Your blog is very user friendly, loads up fast on the iphone, you update constantly (which i love), and you show you care about the people who view your blog by responding to EVERY single comment. Who wouldn't want to come to a blog like that?

SCOTT'S REPLY: That's very nice of you to say, Adam. Thank you very much.

WOOOOO HOOOOO big numbers.. can't wait to see if ever go over 100,000 for month that would be awesome.. of that 80 plus thousand I am probably around 2000 of that myself, I sit your site man many times a day even before you are out of bed in the mornings... lol I can be a little obsesive at times.. especially around new update times... LOL. a huge "tech geek" at heart.

SCOTT'S REPLY: Ha! That's funny, Tom. As for 100,000, I absolutely believe those days are coming. I've watched my average go from 1,000 a day to more than 2,000 a day and now I'm watching it grow from there. It's because of great and loyal people like you who read and let your friends and colleagues know. And I appreciate that very much.

A belated congrats to you!

SCOTT'S REPLY: Thank you kindly, Marci.

It's because you update it so often. Every time I visit the site there is a new post. So I visit it more often. I think that is one of the keys the news industry needs to learn. They still think in a newspaper mentality - publish once and go to bed.

SCOTT'S REPLY: It's true, Jeremy. I always tell people when they look for blogging tips to remember that your blog has to have extended hours. You can still sleep, but folks expect it to be fresh and relevant all the time.
