LinkedIn comes to the iPhone/Touch
Monday, February 26, 2008 -- 11:53 a.m. -- on my couch
Ever use LinkedIn? It's a site for professional networking, and now it's available optimized for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
LinkedIn says it's the world's largest professional network with more than 19 million members.
To use the new version, go to m.linkedin.com in the mobile browser of your choice. Remember, this release is a beta product, so there could be some bugs -- that's typical for any beta. The final version is expected later this spring.
Impressively, the beta is already available immediately in English, French, German,
Spanish, Japanese and Chinese with additional languages to follow
If you are familiar with LinkedIn, you'll appreciate the ability to:
*Search LinkedIn profiles, including photos and bio information
*Research mutual contacts
*Invitation capability to connect on LinkedIn anywhere
*Network update capabilities
I am on LinkedIn, but truth be told, I don't use it as much as I use Facebook and Twitter. But, that does not mean LinkedIn isn't a valuable resource, because it definitely is.
Remember to check it out here.
Thanks for calling.

I've recently moved to my dream job, having been found by a recruitment consultant on Linked In, so I have a lot to thank it for. I do like having a more serious business networking site - I wouldn't like my boss at work to be looking at my frivolous Facebook page.
I've just noticed that when you go to your contact list it comes up with an iPhone style A to Z down the right side of the screen. That's pretty neat.
SCOTT'S REPLY: I was trying it earlier, Kim, and it's an example of a product that wasn't rushed. It has the iPhone touches and that's great.
Posted by: Kim | Feb 25, 2008 1:25:31 PMHa! What an idiot I am. Here's me getting excited over the discovery of the iPhone like A to Z, and there is it right in the photo you posted! I should pay closer attention to things.
SCOTT'S REPLY: You are definitely not an idiot, Kim ... those things are easy to miss.
