RedEye's Best Video Game Ever tourney
Alrighty then...
The mad scientists at the RedEye have put their drug-addled brains together to come up with yet another fantastic and funtabulous tourney, this time giving YOU the opportunity to determine the RedEye's Greatest Video Game!

And as the RedEye's resident geek, they've asked me for my predictions. Let's see if I do better here than I did in the RedEye Superhero Tournament...

Wired NextFest
Posted at 11:05 a.m. - Tuesday, October 7
This event is so cool and comes to us via BoingBoing.net - A Directory of Wonderful things:
"Our WIRED friend Melanie Cornwell gives us a heads up on the final two special events at the ongoing WIRED NextFest in Chicago this week. If you're in town, you gotta go! Melanie explains:
[First, an] homage to "Inside the Actors Studio" called "Inside the Gamers Studio" with Chris Hardwick tackling the Lipton role in a live interview with Alex Seropian, founder of Bungie Studios and EP of Halo.
This will be followed by our first ever Brain Bowl, in which super smart Chicago-area college students who play Quiz Bowl take on Wired editors, Chicago professors and other notables. We’ve been unofficially calling this event “Are you smarter than a Wired editor?” and when it comes to the students, the answer is surely “Yes!” As one of our editors noted, the students are still in the process of learning, while he spends a lot of his time forgetting. :-) Hardwick returns to his game show roots as host, it should be hilarious.
WHERE: Chicago’s Millennium Park
WHEN: Wednesday, October 8, 2008
Inside the Gamers Studio - 4:30-5:30pm
Beer/Soft Drink Break – 5:30-6pm
Brain Bowl – 6-8pmThey're our final NextFest events and are free and open to the public."
Way cool stuff going on in Millenium Park! Be sure to check it out!

Is McCain Chaotic or Chaotic/Neutral?
Posted at 3:15 p.m. - Thursday, August 21
The folks at Wired Magazine have a fun little contest going where gamers can write a character profile for Republican Presidential Candidate John McCain as a D & D character. There are some clever ones, funny ones and some that take the whole exercise a wee bit too seriously.
Can G2M readers do any better?

McCain Campaign Disses Gamers then rolls for damage...
Posted at 11:15 p.m. - Tuesday, August 19
The John McCain campaign made a bit of a boo-boo when one of its political bloggers took a shot at D&D players...
The campaign staffer quickly did a double-take and recanted their statement, but not before an industrious gamer created this T-shirt:
If you're planning on voting Democrat this election, and have the prestige level to wear this baby to the polls, you can order it here.
