Lost & Found: Give her the Boot....Well, Boots
    Posted Oct. 14 at 1:30 p.m.
Updated on Oct. 20 at 11:16 a.m.  This rider found her missing shoes.  "Going Public" is awaiting more details of this mass transit miracle, so stay tuned.
Don't let this nice rider be like a CTA Shoeless Joe Jackson.  Let's help this young lady find some shoes she left on the train or bus.  Check out our latest lost & found request, and then respond if you have any info that might help us get a bead on these boots.
Over a week ago, (Monday, 10/06), I must have left my shoes on the train or on the bus.  I had just finished my first day of work, so I had a lot on my mind.  I arrived at the Red Line stop at State and Lake around 5:15 pm.  I got on the train going Southbound and I got off at the 87th street stop.  I then got on the 87th street bus heading Westbound.  I got off of the bus at Washtenaw.  Somewhere inbetween leaving work and getting home, I misplaced my shoes.  They were brand new black boots, women's size 10.

    Lost: Engagement Ring

    Posted May 19, 10:52 a.m.

Bus riders, I'm putting out a red alert on behalf of Dee, who lost her engagement ring on a CTA bus on Friday, May 16.

Now, ladies, you know it can be tricky to get a committment -- let alone a nice rock -- out of the fellas, so we CANNOT take this loss lightly.

Here are the deets, and please note that Dee is offering a reward.  If anyone has any info, please post below and re-connect this ring to its rightful owner.

Today on the 3:45 bus #192 from the University of Chicago Medical Center to Union Station, I lost my beautiful platinum solitaire engagement ring. I was sitting behind the rear doors (it's a double bus), in the second row, on the right-hand side, facing forward.

My fiance and I are devastated. I have called the CTA lost and found several times and the keep telling me to call back later, which I will. But please, if anybody found my ring, please let me know. Thanks for posting lost-and-founds on your website.

In a new feature, we'll post any requests to retrieve items lost on the CTA. But that's not all.

If you've found something on the CTA and want to try and get it back to its rightful owners let us know about that as well. Send your emails to goingpublic@tribune.com or leave a comment below.

    Michelle wrote to me:

"Please help! On the 147 today and was asked to let someone know when to get off for the Hancock Tower (Jan. 29 about 7:40 a.m). I said oh, next two stops.

The guy saw the building and rushed to get off dropping an expensive pair of leather gloves and a hat. I picked them up and tried to catch him, but the bus moved and by the time I got off a block later I couldn't find him.

I went into the Hancock building but didn't see him anywhere...I feel bad because he rushed off because I didn't tell him to get off the bus in time.

Could you maybe print this letter ? I'd love to be able to correct this and get these items back to this guys."

    Consider it done, Michelle.
