Did you feel The Hawk swooping down on you today? Of course, you did. Break out the gloves and scarves, peepz. It is officially cold in the Chi. That said, today's "Going Public" is all about construction spots that need to be up and running before it gets really bad. Are there trouble spots you are noticing? Got any suggestions for the CTA on how to properly winterize? I'll pass them along.

This is off topic, but trees could double as windbreaks so it may still qualify. The C.T.A should sell carbon offsets. The value could be determinedby how many cars C.T.A. policies and improvements got off the road.Planting trees on C.T.A. properties could provide more offset credits to sell.Gracing unsightly el structures with ivy could produce still more.
"GP" says: Hey James, that's a great idea. Thanks for sharing it on the blog.

Example: At the Belmont "L," show us when the next east- and west-bound buses are coming. It would save me a lot of glancing over my shoulder, wondering whether I should wait for the bus or just walk. And since the bus tracker is already in uses, all they'd need are a few monitors and internet.
