Baby (and Stroller) on Board: Spy Intel, Oct. 10

    Posted Oct. 10 at 8:10 a.m.

Man, oh man, our CTA spies have been busy.  Taking photos of boorish bus riders, lamenting the dumpy appearance of an area near the Blue Line and, in one case, shouting out a mouse sighting in a station.  Yech!  So check out Part One of this week's intel report and then let me know what you've spotted around the CTA.

Double-Oh-Fo' is incredulous about a rider seemingly blocking an entire bus aisle.  He didn't even file a report per se, figuring this picture is worth a thousand words.  Now, moms, don't get mad at the messenger.... Cute baby, though. Stay tuned for part II.

It used to be a time when I had my child that CTA drivers would not move the bus until you removed your child from the stroller an folded it up. Now they don't say anything but when you get on a Pace bus it is a must and the driver will state that it is a state law that for safety reasons children can't remain in the strollers. So what's up with the CTA?

This is nothing. I've been on much more crowded buses where there were two or even three strollers blocking the aisles. Drivers do nothing to control the situation. Parents are totally unconcerned with the safety or convenience of other riders.

Oh even better, the people with these strollers(which can double as small cars sometimes) fold up the seats intended for those with wheelchairs and park there.

Funny to come across this article, because I was on the Halsted #8 with my boyfriend the other day, and a woman had her child in the stroller next to her(near the front doors of course), paying no attention to the baby; the bus made a sudden jerk/stop, and the stroller completely flipped over; the mother acted as if it was no big deal.

The problem on this one isnt the CTA, its the rider. She is living proof not everyone has common sense and people don't care about others. Common sense should say I a on a bus, the isle is narrow...others will need to walk by...since i know ppl bothering me gets on my nerves let me make sure they can get by...maybe i should move my baby so that no one falls on her and i try to sue CTA saying its their fault..and they probably cant pay me bec they already have problems on that end.

No problem is she doesn't care, her sense tells her I'm on this bus, this is my stroller i dont feel like folding it, bec i am cold and my baby is reasting and she is quiet, if you dont like it and you say something i'll be ready to verbally or physically fight you.

FYI I a black and I a so glad I don't ride CTA, simply bec especially south and west, ignorant selfish ppl are always on the buses and trains and I dont have tie to argue with anyone bec i will tell the upfront. And CTA needs to step up and have teh drivers tell them. If you can fold it. ur not riding. You can't force ppl to be considerate, and you surely can't give them common sense, but you can lawfully make the walk.
