CTA Spy: A new "Knight," so watch it Chris Bale...

    Published Aug. 29 at 8: 10 a.m.

You've heard of the "Dark Knight," right? Well, now meet his Crimson counterpart, a Roseland resident called Crimson Knight who has agreed to keep an eye on the Red LIne as well as two bus routes.  Check out his description and photo below, and then step back...this message will self destruct in 10 seconds.  Okay, it won't exactly self-destruct, but nothing wrong with inserting a little urgency.

    Crimson_knight_3

    Preferred Code Name:  Crimson Knight
    Age:  39
    Neighborhood:  Roseland
Frequent Rider Of:  Red Line (95th to Downtown/Near North Side), 119, 34
What I Loathe about CTA:  Bus-bunching (it's like they travel in herds), old buses, older stations, shift changes in the middle of the route
What I Love About CTA:  For all its flaws, it does get me where I want to go and it's pretty reliable.

This is a non-story. The real story is the legions of CTA employees who sit around the stations on the Brown line doing absolutely nothing other than chatting with their friends on their cell phones and collecting a salary with generous benefits. Until we better manage these folks and put them to work, the CTA will only lurch from one financial crisis to the next and they will only tax, tax and tax to solve their financial problems.
