This just in:
Prepare yourself for some Blue Line Blues.
Going Public" just got a press release from the CTA with a very strong good news/bad news factor.
The good news: The CTa is getting uber-aggressive about stamping out slow zones between Rosemont and O'Hare, actually ramping up ongoing efforts to make the repairs needed to transform the branch back to a rail service instead of a tortoise trek.
The bad news, particularly for those who hate CTA shuttle service: the transit agency today announced that for three weeks in July shuttle service will replace rail travel between the O'Hare and Rosemont stops until (gulp) Monday, July 28.

Great! I'll be flying out of O'Hare on July 9th, and coming back on the 16th. I thought I'd avoid Blue Line hassles by flying on weekdays, but that's not going to be the case. Dragging a suitcase onto a shuttle bus isn't fun. Argh.

I have had to run for the bus more than once because the bus stops and leaves again before the 4:02 p.m. schedule. And yeah, I check the time when I get on the bus. If you don't catch this one, there is often a 15 or more minute wait for the next bus, which translates to at least an additional half hour commute because of the later departure time.
While I'm on the 136 subject, isn't it possible to get a larger bus for the morning commute so so many people don't have to stand?
