Ai7_final4_004 According to TMZ, here's what the Top 4 on "Idol" will sing on Tuesday night.

  • David Archuleta: "Stand by Me" by Ben E. King and "Love Me Tender" by Elvis Presley.
  • Jason Castro: "Mr. Tambourine Man" by Bob Dylan and "I Shot the Sheriff" by Bob Marley.
  • David Cook: "Baba O'Reilly" by The Who and "Hungry Like the Wolf" by Duran Duran.
  • Syesha Mercado: "Proud Mary" by Tina Turner and "A Change is Gonna Come" by Sam Cooke.

    David Cook is my favorite overall idol, but Sayesha had it last night in my opinion. Her "A change is gonna come", was on par with Fantasia's "Summertime" whichever year that was. David A is just boring. He's a great singer, but not an idol. I'm not a hardcore Elvis fan, but I agree with you. If you can't do it justice, leave it alone. There are some things you don't mess with. I don't know why the judges were tripping out all over him. He's going to end up winning because of all the prepubescent girls hitting redial.

    BRIAN'S REPLY: I agree, mostly. I think David A. did just a bit better than Syesha overall, but he definitely is not exciting at all. I don't know why he's so hyped. Great voice, great control, bland personality, zero stage presence. There's gotta be more balance between those areas to make a whole "Idol."
